![]() ![]() If you need to troubleshoot any issues with the platform, you will likely find the answer on the support website. ![]() There are many how-to articles and tutorials on topics, ranging from setup to restoring data and resolving syncing problems. Like all top cloud storage platforms, SpiderOak One Backup enables customers to make use of an extensive support website. We received a reply to our request in just under 12 hours (Image credit: SpiderOak) This is a more secure way of sharing files on the internet, and almost guarantees your files will only be seen by the intended recipient. Share Room meanwhile is a web-based interface that enables users to share files via temporary, self-destructing links. While this might still result in the loss of some recently updated files, it certainly beats a total loss of your files and photos. If you become the unfortunate victim of a malware attack or other type of cybercrime, the Point in Time Recovery feature will help you restore your cloud storage account to a time before the malware or ransomware infected your drive. Like all great data recovery tools, this feature won’t be helpful until it saves the day. This isn’t a surprise, however, as SpiderOak One is primarily a consumer-oriented product. Unfortunately, we’re also somewhat disappointed by the lack of business or team-specific features. SpiderOak isn’t the most feature-rich cloud storage platform, but it covers all the most important bases, such as file sharing, drag-and-drop functionality, and file thumbnails. Although not rich in features, SpiderOak nails the fundamentals (Image credit: SpiderOak)

![]() The most obvious example is a person or character in your script who would need to be identified, rehearsed, and ultimately cast. ![]() That means everything from characters to clothes to decoration to makeup and far far beyond. ![]() ![]() If you’re a chemist, script elements are your periodic table of creative possibilities, tangible items that can be labeled and quantified to help everyone better understand what is involved in order to bring your script to life.Ī script element is any person, object, effect, or process that needs to be thoughtfully prepared before filming takes place. Script elements are the foundational building blocks of not only your script but of the entire production that your script informs. Only then can you begin to thoughtfully dissect your recipe and plan out your production’s ingredients to meet that creative objective. Once you understand its emotional value with a fresh set of eyes, you understand the destination that you and your crew are ultimately striving for. More to the point: read the script from an outsider’s perspective to better appreciate its end goal. If they don’t understand your story’s creative value or see the bigger picture of how it can impact its viewers or convey a meaningful message, you’re stuck in a kitchen with uninspired cooks. This doesn’t just apply to your potential audience members it’s just as important that you create these connections with your crew members as well. Regardless of your familiarity with the source material, thoughtfully performing a script breakdown requires an objective appreciation for what makes the script appealing and how it should be represented on screen in order to make those all-important emotional connections.Īfter all, that’s what this visual medium is - a language of light and images designed to elicit emotion reactions, whether that’s anger, fear, laughter, heartbreak, suspense, or any combination in between. “But I wrote this script and I know every single word within it like the back of my hand,” says the defensive screenwriter, but that’s beside the point. Whether you’re a screenwriter more familiar with your story than anyone else or a producer/production manager/1st AD reading the script for the first time, an integral part of the script breakdown process is performing a full, objective read-through of the script to appreciate its creative appeal as an audience member. Read (and Understand) The Script As an Audience Member If you’d prefer to learn from watching a masterclass video from Celtx’s very own Product Manager, Lisa Vatcher, check out our video below and fast forward to the 22 minute mark where she really digs into how to do a breakdown where she breakdown scenes of the famous Good Will Hunting Movie. So, what actually goes into a script breakdown and what do you need to know to take the next steps towards turning your storytelling passion into a production-ready action plan? Everything you need to know about script breakdowns is detailed below in our ultimate tell-all guide. More often this is the responsibility of either 1) the producer, who in an effort to get your script financed and supported, needs to create a tangible and high-level plan for department heads and network/studio executives to understand, or 2) a 1st Assistant Director (or 1st AD) responsible for understanding how to actually shoot your script and delegating that shooting plan to the rest of the crew members. Keep in mind: in the upper echelons of Hollywood, this job is rarely done by the screenwriter themselves. It’s a conversion from story-driven creative document into a concrete, accessible production plan that every member of a production crew can interpret. Think of it as a translation from “creative ideas” to “production to-do’s,” or as an adaptation from “detailed recipe” into a digestible “list of ingredients” that production managers can use to actually bring your script to life.Ī script breakdown is the in-depth process of tagging, highlighting, and organizing each and every “element” of your script scene-by-scene to fully understand every requirement needed to prepare, budget, schedule, and ultimately film your entire screenplay. The next organic step in the writing, production, or creative process is converting your proud screenplay into a production-ready blueprint that paves a logistical road for crew members to follow and execute. This will automatically help format your script for you in an easy, modern and efficient manner. ![]() Fear of the unknown will make opponents think twice about attacking you, not knowing if your 2/2 face-down card is an Icefeather Aven or a Sagu Mauler, or if you simply have a Putrefy in hand ready to deal with any threat. Hayek was recruited to the project after doing a favor for friend Rodriguez. Because you can’t choreograph a snake, we don’t know what she’s going to do!” I had to go on trance to do the dance… And there was no choreography. “So it was good because I had to overcome my greatest fear. To prod the actress, Tarantino claimed that Madonna was interested in the role, and that she would have no problem being wrapped in python. It doesn't matter how many bits of entropy a password contains if it's on a dictionary of common passwords, as these are usually tried first. From the example above, "Summer2017" is an extremely common password, found on almost every list you can find for brute forcing passwords. ![]() Lists of millions of leaked passwords can be found online and these are usually the starting point for an attacker attempting to gain access. But why is "Summer2017" a terrible password and "wUm09n#i4", with 59.1 bits of entropy, a good password when they both have roughly the same bits of entropy? Enter the dictionary attack.Ī dictionary attack involves creating a list of common passwords and generating permutations on them instead of brute forcing every combination. For those interested in maths, finding the bits of entropy is calculated by e = L * log(C)/log(2) where L is the length of the password and C is the size of the character set.Ĭlearly having a higher number of bits of entropy indicates a stronger password. ![]() This number is about equal to 2^59.5 and so "Summer2017" has 59.5 bits of entropy. This means the number of guesses to guarantee we find the password is 62^10. The size of the character set for this password is 26 (upper case) + 26 (lower case) + 10 (numbers) = 62 characters. The password "Summer2017" is 10 characters long, and uses upper and lowercase alphanumeric characters. Web based brute forcing would be much slower.) (Note: these numbers are based on GPU hash breaking and require a data dump of password hashes. Someone with a data mining system might be able to get 2^55 passwords or possibly more, depending on their hardware. For some context, it's realistic that a normal person with a single graphics card on their computer can guess about 2^49 passwords per day. A password with n bits of entropy would require 2^n guesses to guarantee that password will be found. A password that requires at most 2 guesses to find has 1 bit of entropy. This measurement is known as bits of entropy.Ī password that is already known has zero bits of entropy. We can now measure the strength of a password as the number of guesses it would take to guarantee we guess the password, assuming we know the character set the password uses. Eventually, this script would find all passwords that are strictly lower case alphabetical characters. An example of this might be to start with "a", then "b", then "c" and continue until "z", at which point the program would try "aa", then "ab" and so on. ![]() This involves setting up an automated script to literally attempt all possible combinations of characters for that password. These requirements are in place to raise the entropy of a password and make it much harder for an attacker to guess your password.Ī common way to break passwords on a user account is to use a "brute force" method. It's common to see "Your password must contain characters from three of the following categories" to be able to set your password. Passwords are obviously required to keep your online accounts and data safe, but how strong is your password? The idea of a strong password can be hard to quantify and most places require your passwords to meet some requirements. ![]()
